AFTER CARE TIPS FOR EYEBROWS AND EYELASHES

With the right aftercare, your clients will enjoy their lash and brow lift much more. Some clients may be knowledgeable about their care, while others have no idea that they need to groom their extra lashes and brows. You need to give them the right advice so your client gets the best results and keeps coming back for new appointments!

Eyebrow tips

The first 24 hours after eyebrow perm are critical and must be treated with care to ensure the longevity of the treatment. With the following aftercare tips, your clients will be able to maintain a perfect brow shape and ensure they are hydrated, healthy and strong:

  • Do not get your eyebrows wet for the first 24 hours – avoid bathing, showering, swimming and sauna steam
  • Avoid using makeup or face care for the first 24 hours
  • Use eyebrow conditioner every day
  • Avoid any excessive rubbing or touching of the eyebrows
  • For the first 48 hours, avoid sleeping on your back.

Tips for eyelashes

With proper aftercare, extra lashes can last up to 4 weeks. The extra lashes will fall out as the natural lashes grow and reach the end of their life cycle. When they fall, they take the attached extra cilia with them and leave gaps. This is why clients should come in for appointments every 2-3 weeks to maintain a full eyelash look. Even at home, eyelash extensions are a high-maintenance beauty treatment. They require very gentle care to ensure long-lasting results. These are our tips for their aftercare:

  • Avoid wetting the eyelashes for 48 hours, keep the face dry in the shower. You can wash your face in the sink, using a towel, but avoiding the eye area.
  • Gently touch the new lashes, never pinch or pull the extra lashes. When washing the face, always wipe gently and dry the eyelashes afterwards.
  • Avoid using heavy makeup and stay away from eyelash curlers. After all, you don't need mascara when you have extra lashes.
  • Do not use oil-based products around the eyes as they can break the glue and prematurely shed the extra lashes.
  • Brush the extra lashes at least twice a day, with a clean lash brush, to keep them in place.
  • Wash lashes at least twice a day with approved lash cleansers to stop dirt and makeup build-up.
  • Dry the extra lashes with a hand fan or blow dryer on a cool, low setting.
  • Avoid sleeping on your side or face to avoid putting pressure on your eyelashes.
